A. Eberle Africa, a company specialising in power quality and grid stability solutions, has installed its first low-voltage regulation system (LVRSys) at Siemens’ sub-Saharan Africa data centre in Midrand.
Speaking at a special event on Friday (March 7), A. Eberle Africa’s Managing Directors, Till Sybel and Brian Howarth, focused on the system’s features that stabilise voltage at distribution level, reducing electrical stress on infrastructure and improving overall power quality. They said this marks a significant step in improving power stability and efficiency within critical infrastructure and ultimately strengthening South Africa’s electrical grid.
The LVRSys, developed in Germany, has been tailored for South African conditions to ensure more consistent electricity supply. The system is designed to prevent voltage dips and fluctuations that can damage equipment or disrupt operations.
A. Eberle Africa plans to expand the system’s deployment on additional sites in South Africa.
A guided tour of Siemens’ data centre showcased the LVRSys application. For more on this, see the next issue of Energize magazine.
