Motion plastics manufacturer Igus has launched an updated version of its ReadyCable Finder – an online tool designed to help with the selection of drive cables for industrial applications.
The tool, which features a database of over 6 000 drive cables that comply with 38 manufacturer standards, allows users to identify the appropriate cable for their motors by entering a part number. It includes real-time information on pricing, material specifications and expected service life.
The finder also displays up to seven different cable quality options, which include variations in jacket materials and performance characteristics tailored to different environmental conditions and energy chain applications.
The service life of the cable can be calculated using the integrated Chainflex calculator. “The calculator uses data from Igus’s 4 000 square metre test facility to estimate cable longevity. Users input parameters – such as travel distance, speed, acceleration and bend radius – and the tool generates a durability estimate based on real test data and artificial intelligence-driven calculations,” the company says.
