The Manufacturing Indaba taking place October 22-23 in Sandton, Johannesburg, will highlight the ongoing advancements and innovations shaping the future of manufacturing in Africa.
African manufacturing is undergoing a transformation driven by the adoption of advanced technologies such as 3D printing, robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT), says Liz Hart, Managing Director of the Manufacturing Indaba. “These technologies enhance productivity and efficiency, allowing African manufacturers to compete on a global scale. Moreover, the implementation of sustainable practices reduces the environmental impact of manufacturing processes, aligning the industry with global sustainability goals.”

Hart adds that by supporting R&D activities, manufacturers can develop new products and processes that are competitive in the global market. “Collaboration between industry stakeholders, government bodies, and academic institutions fosters an ecosystem conducive to innovation.
