Enlit Africa 2025 will introduce a new feature to its programme – the Project & Investment Network – aimed at connecting energy infrastructure projects with potential investors and technical partners.
The finance-focused initiative can be booked separately by delegates attending this year’s event at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from May 20-22. It is designed to facilitate direct engagement between energy project developers, financiers, OEMs and regulators.
The network includes project “deep dives” and interactive masterclasses focusing on infrastructure initiatives either in development stage or already operational and in search of capital or technical collaboration. A key session will explore the Mission 300 initiative, which is aiming to connect 300 million Africans to electricity by 2030 through a US$348 billion commitment by global financial institutions. “Discussions will delve into expanding cost-efficient power generation, boosting regional power integration for cross-border trade and scaling last-mile electrification with distributed renewable energy solutions,” the organisers say.
Finance will also feature prominently on the Strategise Stage with a session dedicated to public-private partnerships in Africa’s power sector. Regional interconnection will be addressed in a panel discussion assessing the role of power pools, such as the Southern African Power Pool and West African Power Pool, in expanding market size and attracting institutional investors. The Renewable Energy & Storage Hub will explore alternative financing models such as crowdfunding and community investment schemes.
