Minister of Energy and Electricity Kgosientsho Ramokgopa received the second of three consignments of energy equipment donated by the People’s Republic of China in a handover ceremony at the Eskom storage facility in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal, on August 27.
This donation is part of the Technical Assistance Programme initiated during the visit of the Chinese Head of State to South Africa in August 2023.
The consignment includes diesel generators and photovoltaic energy storage systems. It will significantly improve energy efficiency and ensure consistent power supply to clinics and public facilities, thereby maintaining uninterrupted service delivery to communities, Ramokgopa stated.
