Eskom is inviting bids to design, supply, install, operate and maintain a solar photovoltaic (PV) plant with capacity of up to 30 MWp at Komati Power Station in Mpumalanga.
According to the bid document, the request for proposals for the three-year contract is expected to be released in December. The facility must include a single-axis tracker system, be connected to the existing Eskom grid and have a 25-year lifespan.
To fund this contract, Eskom plans to use a portion of finance secured from the World Bank for its Just Energy Transition Project.
Bidder selection will be based on the World Bank’s procurement regulations for investment project financing borrowers (fifth edition, September 2023). Interested parties can access additional information on various platforms including the Eskom tender bulletin (Eskom Tender Bulletin), the National Treasury e-tender portal, the Construction Industry Development Board website (CIDB), the United Nations Development Business site (UNDB) and the World Bank Group website (World Bank Group).
The deadline for applications to be included in the initial selection is October 29.
