The Solar2Share Collective is inviting companies to make a difference by donating solar systems to empower critical services and communities worldwide.
The collective is a corporate social responsibility initiative undertaken by companies in the renewable energy industry with the mission to provide equipment for solar stations in healthcare and education institutions.
The joint initiative was founded by Menlo Electric, Jinko Solar, Sungrow, Deye, SolaX, sun.store, and Photonic.
By the end of 2024, up to twenty facilities worldwide will be able to transition to renewable energy thanks to this initiative,” the group said in a statement. “Preselected facilities include schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and rehabilitation centres that are ready to transition to solar energy.”
These facilities are located across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, including South Africa. “They are a diverse range of public institutions that are prepared to operate independently using renewable energy sources, and are awaiting the necessary equipment to be provided, including panels, batteries and storage. Each installation varies in size from 20 to 40 KW,” Solar2Share said.
Each facility will be assigned to a dedicated project group based on participating companies, streamlining the process of high-quality execution.
Before joining Solar 2 Share Collective, Menlo Electric installed 1 025 solar panels across fifteen projects in seven countries, with a cumulative capacity of 400 kW. “Our past projects were made possible through the collaborative efforts of fourteen partners. They
have resulted in reducing annual electricity costs of the beneficiaries by over 50%, allowing for the savings to be used for their statutory goals,” says Bartosz Majewski, CEO of Menlo Electric.
“Through Solar2Share Collective, we invite companies from diverse sectors to unite and implement impactful projects for the greater good,” says Agata Krawiec-Rokita, CEO of sun.store
