The South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the German Wind Energy Association (BWE) to advance global renewable energy initiatives in South Africa.
The collaboration between SAWEA and BWE aims to leverage Germany's extensive experience in wind energy technology and infrastructure to bolster South Africa’s growing market.
Key commitments under the MoU include enhancing association management, jointly organising events, disseminating information, conducting research, addressing industry issues, providing expertise for conferences, and offering a 10% membership discount for dual members of SAWEA or BWE.
“This MoU will enable us to build a robust framework for collaboration, driving progress in the renewable energy sector, particularly wind energy,” said Niveshen Govender, Chief Executive Officer of SAWEA.
“The partnership reinforces our commitment to the South African wind energy market and supports the global energy transition towards climate-friendly energy production,” said Wolfram Axthelm, Managing Director of BWE.
