IBC SOLAR has held a minority stake in Fankhauser Solar since 2021. There will be no changes for customers and suppliers of the Swiss photovoltaic wholesaler at the turn of the year, and Fankhauser Solar will continue to operate under its own name.
The business relationship between IBC SOLAR and Fankhauser Solar AG is characterised by a long-term partnership, which has resulted in IBC SOLAR taking a minority stake in the company from 2021. Fankhauser Solar has benefited from its cooperation with IBC SOLAR, particularly in the areas of digitalisation and procurement, and has been able to gradually expand its market share. As a result of the cooperation, IBC SOLAR has also been able to participate to a greater extent in the growth of the Swiss market.
The positive development of both companies has led the respective owners to agree to further intensify their cooperation. This will now be implemented through a complete takeover of Fankhauser Solar AG by IBC SOLAR. With effect of 1 January 2024, IBC SOLAR AG will acquire the remaining shares of Robert Fischer Holding AG.
There will be no changes for customers and suppliers at the turn of the year and the cooperation with Otto Fischer AG (a subsidiary of Robert Fischer Holding AG) will continue.
“The last two years have been more than turbulent for the PV industry. By joining forces, we have been able to master the challenges with such excellence that we have decided to work even more closely together. We are looking forward to embarking on a common path with our Swiss colleagues”, explains Julius Möhrstedt, Head of Sales Central Europe. “Together we have a lot of plans for the growing Swiss market.”
Hans-Georg Schweikardt, Managing Director of Fankhauser Solar AG, adds: “We are excited about the new chapter that is opening up for Fankhauser Solar AG and the entire Swiss market. With IBC SOLAR as a strong partner at our side, we want to build on our success and make photovoltaics the number one energy source.”
