Global events such as the Covid-19 pandemic and climate change, accompanied by the drive for carbon reduction, have shown us how interconnected our lives are. These events are forcing behavioural changes on us all, giving rise to innovative ways to work, operate and manage our lives in all the far-flunk corners of the world. We are thus compelled adapt, change and become resilient in the face of it all.
Similarly, our power networks and the interconnectedness of our power grids must be just as resilient. They must adapt and transform as we continuously shift to cleaner energy sources in order to build the power system for future generations.
The 11th CIGRE regional conference will provide a platform to deliberate on subjects that expand on how we can build, transform, and adapt a resilient power system for the future.
These discussions will be between electric utilities, municipalities, system operators, regulators, manufacturers and suppliers, universities, standardisation bodies, research laboratories, and authorities on topics in the field of the development of electrical systems in Africa.
