ENERTRAG, a global renewable energy company, has appointed Enos Banda as CEO of ENERTRAG South Africa.
The company, headquartered in Germany, says the appointment marks a significant step towards implementing its renewable development pipeline in South Africa.
“I am excited to step into the role of CEO during a period of rapid transformation and notable grid challenges in the energy sector,” said Banda. “Our goal is to drive meaningful change by leveraging ENERTRAG’s global innovations and pioneering work that I’ve been involved in on South African grid development and investment. I believe now, more than ever, global innovation, local expertise and collaboration are key to achieving a successful energy transition.”
Banda is a former Chair of the National Electricity Regulator. He also founded Green Transmission Company, which has started working on grid infrastructure development in South Africa.

ENERTRAG’s activities span renewable energy production, grid infrastructure, and energy storage in the gigawatt range in the fields of wind, solar and hydrogen.
