Renewable power generation plants, such as wind and/or solar farms, are generally installed in hard-to-reach locations far from grid connection points, resulting in long cable installations. There are reported cases where lower-quality labour and incorrect procedures have been used and compliance has not been ensured with technical specifications. This has caused problems to arise prematurely, affecting the insulation of underground medium voltage cables, thus preventing their operation.
