Many manufacturing facilities are considering upgrading existing factory lighting to more energy efficient LED lighting to save on energy and maintenance costs. While the direct energy savings are evident, the effects of a lighting upgrade can extend beyond well beyond cost savings. Upgrading to more efficient lighting creates the opportunity to consider a total overhaul of the factory lighting system, taking new knowledge on the effect of lighting quality into account. Recent studies have shown that gains in productivity and worker wellness, as well as a reduction in accidents can be achieved by upgrading lighting rather than simply replacing existing lighting.
