CIGRE Southern Africa is poised to make a mark at the Paris 2024 session with an unprecedented level of participation.
The biennial gathering in Paris, scheduled from August 25-30, is a global event for power system experts, attracting over 3 000 delegates from more than 120 countries.
Historically limited to an average of eight synopses due to membership headcount, this year saw an impressive 30 synopses submitted by the Southern African National Committee (SANC) with 25 accepted for paper submission. Ultimately, 17 papers were approved for the session. “This notable increase highlights the growing expertise and involvement of Southern Africa in the global power systems dialogue,” says Sidwell Mtetwa, Chairman of CIGRE SANC. “Congratulations to all the authors whose papers were accepted and will be travelling to Paris.”
The Paris session will feature discussions on power system topics across 16 study committees. A special reporter will analyse papers and generate questions for group discussions. Experts worldwide are encouraged to contribute written responses. Only registered delegates can participate and remote participation is not allowed.
